Your learning experience is the most important thing you can take away from high school.  Grades indicate your mastery of core subjects and motivation to succeed. So better grades will provide you with more opportunities for education beyond high school. But your college application includes more than grades, and admissions offices will also consider your SAT or ACT scores if required, recommendations, and volunteer, extracurricular or leadership activities.
